Paint, Wire, Fire: The Neurobiology of Art Therapy & ADHD

Experiential CE Training for Clinicians

📅 Friday, November 13, 2026
🕛 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM (2.5 CE Hours)
💻 Virtual Training (Live Interactive)

Training Overview

What if creativity isn’t just expressive—but neurological?

This experiential continuing education training explores how art therapy engages brain systems involved in attention, motivation, and emotional regulation, particularly for individuals with ADHD.

Blending neuroscience, clinical insight, and hands-on artmaking, this training introduces the Paint, Wire, Fire framework—a dynamic approach designed to activate neural pathways that support executive functioning and therapeutic change.

Participants will leave not just with knowledge, but with practical, ready-to-use interventions for children, adolescents, and adults.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe key neurobiological mechanisms associated with ADHD, including dopamine regulation and executive functioning

  • Explain how art therapy interventions engage neural networks related to regulation, motivation, and cognitive flexibility

  • Identify clinical applications of the Paint, Wire, Fire framework for neurodivergent clients

  • Demonstrate at least two experiential, art-based interventions to support engagement and emotional regulation in therapy

Training Format

This is a live, virtual, experiential workshop, which includes:

  • Guided art-making exercises

  • Real-time clinical application discussion

  • Interactive learning environment

No advanced art skills required—just openness and curiosity.

CE Credit Information
