Helping families navigate challenges with creativity, compassion, and care
Family Therapy in Phoenix That Strengthens Connection
When Families Struggle, Everyone Feels It
Maybe the tension at home feels heavier than it used to. Arguments seem to come out of nowhere, certain topics feel “off limits,” or everyone retreats to their own corners instead of leaning on one another. You’ve tried family meetings, heartfelt conversations, and compromises—but it feels like something keeps getting in the way.
According to the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, nearly 66% of families who try therapy report significant improvement in their relationships. At Creative Continuum, we believe you don’t have to figure it all out alone—we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Why Families Choose Family Therapy
Family therapy isn’t about assigning blame. It’s about creating a safe, supportive space where everyone feels heard and valued. Instead of focusing on “fixing” one person, we look at the family as a whole—how you communicate, connect, and support each other.
For many families, traditional problem-solving at home can fall short. That’s why we integrate art therapy into our process—because creative expression often unlocks conversations that words alone can’t carry. Through these experiences, families begin to see each other in a new light, and healing connection takes root.
Through creative expression, families discover new ways to listen, understand, and connect beyond what traditional therapy alone can offer.
You Don’t Have to Keep Living This Way
Maybe you’ve thought: “We’ll get through this on our own” or “It’s just a rough patch.” But deep down, you know your family deserves more than just survival. Family life isn’t something to “push through”—it’s something to nurture and enjoy, right now.
Even if you’re unsure whether therapy is “necessary,” these are common reasons families reach out to Creative Continuum:
Frequent arguments or tension that never seems to resolve
A sense of distance or disconnection between parents and children
Difficulty navigating big transitions such as divorce, remarriage, or loss
Blended family challenges around roles and expectations
Struggles balancing independence and closeness in teens
Stress spilling over from work, school, or other life areas
Our Approach: Creative, Evidence-Based, and Family-Centered
At Creative Continuum, we meet your family with compassion, curiosity, and creativity. Our family therapy approach combines evidence-based practices with art therapy, helping each member express themselves authentically and without judgment. Whether it’s through shared art projects, storytelling, or playful creative activities, families discover new ways to connect and problem-solve.
Parents, caregivers, and children are all included in the process. We help you uncover patterns, strengthen communication, and build supportive routines that fit your family’s unique rhythm. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s deeper understanding and stronger bonds.
For families who can’t always “talk it out,” art becomes a bridge. Together, creative expression helps you:
Explore tough emotions in a safe way
Build empathy by seeing each other’s perspectives
Develop healthier communication and problem-solving skills
Celebrate small wins and shared moments of joy
Insurance and Payment Information
Creative Continuum is a private-pay practice, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of your session so we can keep your care simple, flexible, and focused on you, not insurance rules.
-
Private pay means you work directly with us for services instead of billing insurance first.
This allows us to tailor sessions to your goals, pace, and learning style. That may include art therapy, parent support, emotional regulation work, or deeper relational care. Private pay also means fewer barriers, more transparency, and more room for creativity in how therapy looks and feels.
We also support out-of-network benefits. Many insurance plans still want you to see the provider you choose, which often includes deductibles and partial reimbursements for out-of-network care.
-
Yes, many clients do.
If your insurance includes out-of-network coverage, we can provide a superbill after each session. A superbill is a detailed receipt you submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Your insurer then decides what portion they return to you based on your plan and deductible. We also partner with Mentaya to help clients estimate and use their out-of-network benefits more easily.
We are also working toward being able to bill out-of-network benefits directly for clients to make the process even simpler.
-
Yes. Creative Continuum is an ESA vendor in Arizona.
Families using Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) funding may be able to apply funds toward therapy services. If you are using ESA, we can talk through how it works, what paperwork is needed, and how to get started.
We also help families determine eligibility, apply for benefits, and establish funding when possible so the process feels less overwhelming.
-
Insurance often comes with a lot of restrictions. They may require specific diagnoses, limit how often you can come, and control how long sessions can be. Most plans only allow 45 to 50 minute sessions, even when a full 60 minutes would better support your nervous system, processing, and care. Insurance companies also ask for personal details that do not always align with creative, relational, and neurodivergent affirming therapy.
By staying independent, we protect your privacy and keep therapy personalized. Your sessions follow your needs and goals instead of an insurance company’s checklist.
-
We believe in being clear without making things complicated.
Our typical session fees range from $175 to $225, depending on the provider and type of service. We are always happy to walk you through pricing during your consultation so there are no surprises.
Beginning in May, we will also offer lower cost sessions with our intern Joy at $100 per session, creating more accessible options for families and individuals seeking care.
-
We offer a limited number of sliding scale spots when availability allows. These are reserved for families with financial need and are not guaranteed.
At the same time, we truly want clients to receive the services that fit them best. We are always open to exploring financial flexibility, payment plans, or realistic options when cost feels stressful. You are welcome to ask about availability during your consultation so we can talk through what may work.
